Been there, tried that . Does not work.
Do send a copy of your /etc/ppp/pap-secrets and /etc/ppp/chap-secrets
[and also you /etc/ppp/options ] file please.
In both pap-secrets and chap-secrets when you put in the
"Username Server Password" string what do you put in for a server. "*"
does not work.
Kppp happily tries autheticating and tries starting off pppd and drops
connect after timeout :(( X-Isp is not GREATly more exciting a prospect
either !
But all this is applicable ONLY when you get to the CISCO terminal
servers thingys .....If you get the 3COM Modem+Linux Server Combo you
get a rather rancid 33.6 connect with the normal expect & send and a
short lived and HORRIBLE connect.
