I tried to 'upgrade' my RH6.1 to 6.2 using the PCQ CD and it told me
that I needed 49 MB of space MORE... So I got rid of the kernel, FAQs
etc. Next I again tried the upgrade. This time around I was told that I
was short of 2Mb.
So I got rid of some more stuff to have 87% of my Linux partition
[/dev/hda2] full. "/" is here. But everytime I try to do this with the
SAME options the DiskSpace reduces by 1% and I'm told that there is a
shortage of 2Mb.
What's the funda ? I figure that RH is making some sorta backup which
fills up 10Mb or so everytime but WHERE does RH put these gunk ? Or what
else can cause this effect ? I tried the RH site but could not find a
solution ? I am including the df listing when the disk is 89% full.
Incidentally I have NEVER managed to get RH to upgrade my Boxen. Is
there something that I am missing out ? I know I can start of on a fresh
partition. But I REALLY want to know why the upgrade path won't work...
