are you using redhat7.0 with i810? if so.... then you don't have to use alsa.
redhat7.0 carries sound module for i810. only what you have to do is to run
"setup" command and sound config and then aumix. 

and if you are using older version then alsa comes with a read me file which
defines how to edit your conf.modules. if you don't find it out, please allow
me time to go back home and open up my own box. i'll send that from my home.
