Malay-da,

Do check out the following URLs, i hope it shall give you enough ammunition
to grill the sales guys from CISCO's local dealers with your pet query --
"Khaye na matha-ey makhey?" ;-)

1. Linux Comes of Age with Stateful Firewalling

http://www.sans.org/infosecFAQ/firewall/stateful.htm

2. Cisco's PIX Firewall and Stateful Firewall Security

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/cc/pd/fw/sqfw500/tech/nat_wp.htm

I found the CISCO whitepaper exceedingly funny particularly where they list
the "reasons" why PIX firewall is a good reason and everything else you may
have is sub-optimal and deserves to be thrown away. :^)

Please note that you should upgrade your kernel (to 2.4.x) to really get
what you are really looking at in terms of security. So a good question for
the sales guys from CISCO would be have them explain Stateful firewalling
and why your present system (on kernel 2.2.x) is not up to the mark... ;-)

cheers,
--indra
