WANT GAMES? TRY MANDRAKE LINUX GAMING EDITION One of the biggest hurdles for Linux on the desktop has been its lack of games. As a result, game players are relegated to playing commercial games, such as Diablo II or The Sims, on Windows or Mac systems. This may change, as MandrakeSoft and TransGaming Technologies have teamed up to create the Mandrake Linux Gaming Edition, featuring The Sims. This retail package is based on the award-winning Mandrake Linux operating system and includes TransGaming's WineX technology, which will allow users to play their favorite Windows games under Linux. The Gaming Edition comes with a copy of The Sims for Windows. The WineX portability layer technology is based on Wine but with more advanced features such as full compatibility with Microsoft's DirectX APIs, all without sacrificing performance.
