I think the fastest way to get wine on a linux machine is to get codeweavers wine. the rpm is a 5 mb download but i think the effort is worth it coz there is an integrated config tool for configing wine without having to resort to editing conf files and wondering whether i missed anything :-) Here's the download page: http://www.codeweavers.com/technology/wine/download.php
