  There are some distinct types of support for Linux.  You can support 
Linux as a tool to be exploited, as a user or reseller.  This is where IBM 
is.

  You can support Linux on the public policy side, as a empowering
democratizing change to the IT industry which is why some governments and
Free Software folks are involved.  This is obviously my interest, for the 
public policy value of Open Source and Free Software.


  IBM is exploiting Linux, not participating in it.  I think people in
your part of the world understand what happens when a large empire
exploits a community.  You can compare that both to something that
participates in the community and something that opposes that community.
