I'm not suggesting that Linux folks shouldn't exploit IBM as it is exploiting Linux. Get the sponsorship, smooze them for stuff. Just don't trust them. I hear comments in here about RedHat being the "Microsoft of Linux", which is laughable. RedHat may not be making everyone happy, but they are not actively lobbying against Open Source in standards groups like Microsoft and IBM are doing. They aren't relegating Linux to niche-jobs at the 'edge' of the network (trying to keep it out of customers view) like Sun is doing. I am just suggesting people be careful. Work with people when you have things in common, and keep away from each other otherwise -- be wise and alert and know which is which. --- Russell McOrmond, Internet Consultant: <http://www.flora.ca/> See http://weblog.flora.ca/ for announcements, activities, and opinions Submission to Innovation Strategy | No2Violence in Politics http://www.flora.ca/innovation-2002.shtml | http://www.no-dot.ca/ -- To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the body "unsubscribe ilug-cal" and an empty subject line.
