No question of flaming here - GNU/Linux and the Free Software/OSS movement is all
about Freedom of choice, and if you like the Windows interface, you are free to stick
with
that, provided that you get a Free/OS alternative :)
Infact, I am downloading this thing to see if it has any bangla support ;)

...of course, I prefer GNOME2, but that's another matter ;)

Good point.
Infact, a point I raised at the last meet was that the volunteers who would be
in COMPASS must be "properly educated". For example, if I am manning the stall, and if
someone asks me "I have blah blah problem with Bind, how do I fix that?"
I will be totally stumped.
I propose that we have a set of workshops sometime
in December - and I am ready to give some demoes, presentations, etc regarding very
elementary level kernel compilation, and software compilation, X configuration, 3rd
party kernel module loading, etc.

Also, regarding meetings, I have a small suggestion
For the past few meets, I have noticed that there has been NO technical sessions
in the meets.
Unless we have troubleshooting sessions, technical sessions, etc, meeting attendence
will
continue to fall.
My suggestion is that in the next meets, we should have at least one technical
session, and
since most of the users in this list are home users, let's concentrate on the home
users
front. things like playing VCDs, DVDs, viewing Flash enabled sites, etc are still a
pain in
the *** for GNU/Linux users, and let's try to address that :D
