Subject: [ilug-cal] Proposed structure for the Study resource Group
Date: Tue, 18 Feb 2003 09:22:13 +0530
hi,
as part of the ongoing process of formation of a Study Resource Group, i
propose, the following names to the list for formation of the same, with its
focal the FLOSS & GNU/Linux movement.
1. Rohit Vishal Kumar - team/group co-ordinator
2. Dr Manas Laha - SME
3. Dr Partha Pratim Ghosh - SME
4. Sayan Chakroborty
5. Sumeet M Moghe
6. Soumyadip Modak
7. Saugata Ghosh
8. Siddhartha Basu - SME
9. Rajiv Bhattacharya
[SME = subject matter expert]
to be based on the structure of a functional unit, with only a few [max 2]
members keeping the LUG in the loop. the resource group is proposed to have
its own mailing list (if feasible and found to be useful). the duties and
aims of this group would be to collect, collate, categorise a repository of
knowledge that can help newbies, intermediates and power users alike.
information from multiple sources incl. download links should also be
categorised. suggest linking only as opposed to physical residence of the
matter on the servers, as such the onus of responsibilty would be on the
group to keep the links updated. since the group handles the knowledge base,
it could and should [in my opinion] also cross function as the content
generation board along with a team entrusted with the generation of the
proposed monthly LUG newsletter. the need for such has become imperative
with our aims for greater & consistent visibility. the newsletter among
other things is proposed to contain articles, summaries of news and relevant
articles and reviews both linked to and original content. a tutorial section
could also be incorporated provided a relevant topic is identified.
first point of contact - webmaster. then co-ordinator [iLUG-Cal]
since this is a proposal, and a show of hands is really not feasible, the
matter is left to be decided through the list and be given final shape at a
subsequent meeting.
regards
sankarshan mukhopadhyay
