The steps are:
1>When graphical lilo appears press Ctrl+X to change to text mode.
2>Type "linux single" without ""
3>When SH# prompt appears, type the password command "passwd"
4>It'll ask you to enter new password.
5>Ok, done...here root now has a new password.
6>reboot it now.
