Hi all, Sumeet was asked to do the honors as the meeting convenor for the month of March 2003. As is typical in this LUG, a lot of ppl have a typical tendency to take others for granted and assume that these ppl will be doing it anyway, and haul them up if they falter occassionally even due to perfectly valid reasons.
>From Sumeet's posts, it's not entirely clear whether Sumeet is willing to shoulder the burden of convening the next two forthcoming meetings -- one this month and the one in April. His post has specifically mention May onwards for a Barrackpore venue (which IMHO is not such a good idea). Besides, the members who proposed and supported Sumeet's nomination might have other ideas than mine... All the members were supposed to decide that Sumeet to continue if he did a good job. Although, things did backfire a bit on Sumeet and the young turks who eagerly responded to the call, I personally feel that Sumeet be given a second chance, however, I am not so sure about his colleagues based on Anindya's posting in reply to Sumeet's offer of a Barrackpore based ILUG-Kolkata meeting. Bottomline: The moot point here is not Sumeet's continuing presence or otherwise, the question is whether the role of the meeting convenor is being fulfilled by someone for March and April 2003 LUG meetings?
