Granted that personal prefs play a role, but I have to say that unless you're writing a kernel or coding a math library, C does not really rule anymore in the long run. Maintainabilitty, extendability, speed of development are all features that languages like Python, Ruby (aaaarrgh, I have to include Perl :( provide. Frankly, for applications I cant see any justification for using C - unles say some feature is not present in your favorite language and you want to code up an external module. But yes, if you have'nt learnt C you're not a man :) ------------------------------------------------------------------- Rajarshi Guha <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> <http://jijo.cjb.net> GPG Fingerprint: 0CCA 8EE2 2EEB 25E2 AB04 06F7 1BB9 E634 9B87 56EE ------------------------------------------------------------------- CChheecckk yyoouurr dduupplleexx sswwiittcchh.. -- To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the body "unsubscribe ilug-cal" and an empty subject line.
