Hi, I am planning to buy the new COMPAQ Laptop (Intel Celeron 2.8 Ghz / 128 DDR / 30GB / 1.44 FDD / 15.0 TFT / Modem / Lan / Firewire / InfraRed / USB ) in just Rs 44,000/- (approx)
It is really cheap but I have to be sure about its
performance in Linux as well as if I run Java there.
I think I would recommend one of the Acer series that comes preinstalled with Linux (Suse/ Red Hat). Look up the Acer catalog and the website for a list of dealers. I guess in the present day perspective they provide the best price-performance ratio for Linux based notebook and b0xen
