1) Try to increase the bell duration using setterm and also the bell frequency using setterm as well see if it helps.
2) Try changing the PCI slot for the card.

Hello all,

I'm running FC2 on an Intel motherboard with an inbuilt sound card (the relevant module is called snd-intel8x0). I've noticed two problems:

1. I can no longer hear any beeps from the PC speaker: audio
bells on xterms, xbiff, everything works silently. I can play
mp3 and other audio files without problems though. What should
I change to enable the PC speaker?

2. I had RH7.3 before this, and because the inbuilt audio wouldn't
work with that, I plugged in an SBLive card. Now, FC2 doesn't even detect the SBLive card on this motherboard, even when I disable the
integrated audio in the BIOS. On my home machine (which has a much older m'board without integrated audio), an SBLive card works just fine with FC2. Any clues about how I can get FC2 to use the SBLive card instead of the integrated audio?

Thanks for any suggestions,
Mandar.
