Many thanks to PK for bringing up this all-important topic. I would like to invite discussions, arguments and counter arguments on this. IMO, we need to ask the following questions:

1> What is our objective?
To introduce Linux among those who still believe that Linux is tough, and handling it as personal desktop is not possible. We can also introduce them about the virus free environment while surfing the Internet. Almost everybody today believes that if any error/difficulties occurs in Linux, then they are helpless, we have to throw away this from their mind.

2> Who is the audience?
We can classify peoples in 3 categories and approach to them differently:

a. Those, who still dont use it: Introduce them to Linux with Live CD availability, and various distro availability, multiple graphical environment, games, virus free, faster internet,+,+,+,+,+,.

b. Those who used in very early days, but not satisfied and leave it: Introduce them with the new features of Linux, great linux community for all time help, using windows software in linux, ++.

c. Those who use Linux: We can ask them to share their experience and knowledges with us.

3> How do we address them? and

4> What do we gain out of this?
I think, the real fact for not using Linux right from horse's mouth.

All 4 questions are important and IMHO, we as a group need to understand the reason and rationale behind these to bring about a cohesiveness and a sense of purpose to our programs - present as well those being planned.

May I request PK, Saugata, Soumyadip, Arijit, Prosun, Mani, Jaybrata,
RVK, Dipankar-da and all the other members to come across with their
opinions and comments.

cheers,
-indra.
