eureka !

i've discovered it !

we don't change subject lines because when we use the
reply option, the cursor lands in the msg window ! and
we punch and punch the keyboard to our heart's content
with no one to watch over or stop us either

if the cursor landed in the subject box itself, i'm SURE
that punching of keys would alter subject lines too
