of course this is seriously off topic .. its tagged as such and this is the last email on this forum, rest follow up will be off this list ..
but i would still request you : since you are a 1974 joinee, you are well aware of both systems of marking .. so you would be the right person to 'judge' supriyo's achievement level in 1975 with levels from 1976 thru 2004 he shattered all records .. that's what his school tells even today (dr.p.n.singh .. HOD, Maths) .. to put this on the school's alumni website we need to be sure of : 1. that there WAS a record set by him (surpassing all previous records ! .. this is easy to verify from iit authorities/alumni) 2. that comparatively supriyo .. sorry .. Dr.Supriyo's achievements are still worthy of being called 'unsurpassed' till date thanking you yours truly .. pk sharma (he was topper .. i was behind by 19 marks overall .. and by 22 marks in hindi as compared to his bengali :-( .. he went ahead and is doing research in quantum physics .. including einstien's theory .. in purdue where he stays nowadays .. i stayed back for family business matters .. we used to sit side by side for 3 years from class 9 thru 11 .. it was nice .. umm .. well .. ah ! .. nostalgic moments are right for a human, even if he practices humility, and takes a lot of kicking at times ;-D .....) (you can post the reply at the risk of incurring listadmin's wrath .. but i guess he may be curious too ;-) .. as may be some members of ilug-cal .. not all things MUST be linux .. there IS an OT tag here .. we're humans too ! and entitled to talk a few other things on rare occassions) > peekay wrote: > >i had a friend who scored tops in the HS in 1970 and > >broke records in IIT in 1974 .. i am told that the record > >still holds > That's interesting!
