they are not antique p1s .. they are tablet pc's based on : 80186 based handheld hp lx 700 with docking station for cellphone (still the best pc for me) running off 2 pencil batteries for one month's average use .. b&w lcd display .. which doesn't consume current .. the com1 depletes the battery more and has to be turned 'off' .. it has dos5.0 based 'window' like interface too .. (dunno if john srbt smal linux can run on dos5) 486 50/100Mhz which boot from pcmcia flascards/disks p1 .. 100/133 Mhz which boot from 2.5" hdd's .. 8" b&w (lasts a loooong time) and 10.5" color (lasts reasonably long) .. with wi-fi network card support p3 - color lcd with 2.5" hdd with 2 pcmcia slots, multimedia etc .. like lcd monitor .. only that it has all the things behind the monitor (no touch screen though) .. color > more variety required here. AMD, P3s, low-ends go on .. add : a.mani - AMD, P3s try to be specific > Utility specific posters too. LOts of ilug-members can join in.
