Hi,

I use terminal-based authentication i.e. I manually
enter the username/password in the terminal screen
that comes up once connection has been established
with the remote server.

I've been using this approach for about 3 years now.

I had initially tried PAP/CHAP as well as script-based
options but failed to connect consistently. One reason
for this maybe that the username prompt comes as
"username" sometimes and sometimes as "login" ... I've
a hunch that this might be causing authentication
failure sometimes.

Thanks & Regards,
Dipanjan
