if subsidies in higher education are stopped then only those born with
a silver spoon will be able the attain higher education. that will be
worse. instead focus should be on taming the rampant misuse of
government subsidies. AFAIK charity should begin at home. examples set
by teachers can influence their students immensely. it influences their
way of thinking. it can change and set their mindset. so what about
reducing the astronomical salary and perks of the teaching stuffs of
government sponsored institutions of higher education a bit? what about
reducing the number of foreign tours for research faculties which are
not absolutely necessary? what about implementing accounting and audit
of academic resources like network bandwidth?
