Who is that that asks for a graphical installation like - " sit back while wi***** installs on your computer" for any linux distro - ArrrGGGHHH !!!
i want a straightforward installer text/gui/ncurses whatever . - pinaki .

Heh, I'm using Ubuntu right now :D . I've a fair idea of how small a development team is working on Ubuntu (<10 people) fulltime. If they had a little more money to spare, they'd have probably hired someone to do the GTK frontend to Debian Installer for Hoary.
