Try issuing su and then provide a password when asked for it ... I
dont remember when I was asked for it on my Ubuntu ... but this is how

Very funny. It did ask me for the root password and an user password
during expert install (which is the only way)... then it would not let
me login as I had probably forgotten the psswd..or that is what it
wanted me to believe. Then I booted into the terminal as root and
without password...and fixed it.
How can one install easily from the debian sarge dvd on this ?
