Hi All: I recently got an Aamar PC (celeron 2.0 gigs, 256 MB RAM) that came preloaded with Windows XP. I tried to install PCQLinux2005 (based on Fedora Core 3, kernel: 2.6.10) in another partition. Installation went without a hitch. During post-installation configuration, where it asked for screen resolution, it showed the video card as 505, and it had 845 chipset. The default resolution was 800*600. When I reset the screen resoultion to "1024*768" with "millions of colors", x-server failed to fire up. The only resolution at which I could fire x server was "800*600" with "thousands of colors".
This seems to occur only with the Linux. Windows on the other partition boots/works just fine. Has anyone else faced a similar problem? What could be a solution? TIA, /Arin Basu __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
