Of recent, I have been helping some people installing Fedora Core 3 on a
number of boxes, and here are my observations.
i. The video memory of the on board display adapter must be set at least
to 8MB for satisfactory performance. Set this from the BIOS.
ii. FC3 seems to have occasional problems with detecting the horizontal
and sync vertical refresh rate of the monitor. For a normal 15/14 inch
monitor, the generic value is
HorizSync 30-55
VertRefresh 50-120
Edit this value in /etc/X11/xorg.conf
