Hi Subhobroto, I'm just an occasional "dabbler" in this area. I've used PICs because it seems that there are a ton of PIC resources on the web and it's easier to get help. In fact if you search for "parallel to serial PIC", you are likely to come up with something useful.
BTW, have you checked whether you can buy something off the shelf (perhaps in Chandni)?
