Some ideas:
My son subscribes to a Bengali monthly by the name of Kishore Bharati.
Their website is www.patrabharati.com, and email is
[EMAIL PROTECTED] It is published from 3/1, College Row, Kolkata-9,
It has been around for the last 36 years (I also read it in my younger
years :)

This is another excellent idea. I liked reading Kishore Bharati during
my School days. It used to be an excellent magazine. There are two uses
of computer - one is to learn for own use, other is to get a job.
Presently, the second takes priority and there is hardly any need felt
for vernacular language computing. But if want to popularize use of
computer for own use - vernacular language computing will have big
demand. Say in developed countries like Japan, Korea, China - it is
unthinkable to release a software without vernacular language support.
Sadly, the same is not the case in India. We continue to import software
without vernacular language support and spread its use that keep a large
number of population out of computing reach. Only because lack of
proper command of English.
In order to use computer in India, one has to learn English. It is
almost impossible to manage ones day to day computing requirement in
Bengali or Hindi.
Linux, already has support for many vernacular language. I think it will
be a good idea to spread this message across, and may be create a distro
to enable Indian language computing - right from installation to
application.
