What has SCSI IDE mode got to do with RAID? I thought the former was just to
emulate SATA as SCSI for some operating systems.
Anayway, what was the original BIOS setup when you installed Windows? I'd
recommend you keep that in that setting. Now is Ubuntu booting properly? You
can also try to re-install GRUB. Boot from a LiveCD, or a normal install
CD/DVD in 'rescue' mode (or whatever Ubuntu calls it), and then re-install
grub with:
grub-install /dev/sda

In anycase, if you know the partition in which you've installed Windows,
check if the grub entry is correct - the (hd0,xx) in then "chainloader+1"
entry.
