Heh. You wish. A hitch once doesnt mean you should abandon it completely. I wouldnt ditch ubuntu because of that alone. Installing fedora involves as much effort as reinstalling Ubuntu in your case . so why ditch Ubuntu in favor of fedora when you have no idea whether it will or will not be the same case ? If you care so much about having an easy upgrade cycle you should go for Debian/Slackware/Arch linux/Gentoo. Any distro is great once you know what you are doing.
