Why the "developer" wants to migrate to a unstable system? Stay with LTS Versions Ubuntu X.10 versions are not for developers . You already have the feature to install package and security upgrades. Distribution upgrades and Package upgrades are totally different . Distro upgrades may break the system if there a a big change in Base packages. In the same way someone else can also make hue and cry on that system upgrade changes my Customisations and custom installed packages and system . Free Software is not something comes on a teaspoon.
