Please try the following:

1. Make sure you are not using the default connections (Idea Cellular) while
trying wvdial.

2. type dmesg as soon as you plug the device and check the port number
ttyUSB0, ttyUSB1 or so. If the port is not ttyUSB0, type sudo gedit
/etc/wvdial.conf and edit field Modem=ttyUSB0 to ttyUSB1 or what port you
have plugged the device in.
