You can't expect wine to run these apps. Personally, I don't appreciate using wine. Even in windows you need more system resources for 3D rendering & related things. The major (perhaps the only) drawback I see in Linux is lack of 3D modeling softwares. Yes, there are a few open source alternatives like Blender, Qcad....but they cannot fulfill the professional 3D modeling & drafting needs. I'm still keeping windows, only because of the same reason. @ Vimal Fresh installation of Karmic haven't caused any problems for me or Linux using friends of mine. Even with our extensive customizations, karmic is working good. I'm the one who started the thread titled "Problems with Ubuntu 9.10", but actually they are not problems, but certain 'misunderstandings' with the new OS. But I must say that, if you are not feeling confident enough, you should do a bit of homework before recommending karmic (or any other Linux OS) to others. It is not wise that first time you encounter a problem with Linux is when you are installing in front of others. You may go through above mentioned thread, and find out what problems might occur. I think most of the worries are answered there. Regards Adhin -- "Freedom is the only law".
