Why did people start GNOME ? Not because they woke up one fine morning
and told themselvs " Hey i should go start a desktop environment. "
There was a need for GNOME. And that need is still driving the
project. That being said, it will be good to implement new ideas, not
because you have to implement something but because there is a new
idea that needs implementing.
