hi friends, there is a lot decrease in my confusion, thanks to the efforts.

@ Sebin "try changin distros" is not practical every now and then, when u
would like the system to be put to practical purposes.
I havent changed the ditro, but installed an ArtistX, which has most of the
tools pre insatlled. when it comes to a little twaeking with the help of
mailing list, it counts how popular the distro is. Am gonna get an ArchLinux
though.thanks.

please try answering the core problem, and not with exceptions. i have
stated its not the specific technical issue, its the policy and logic.

I did put a (*) on 'user' in earlier post, but forgot to explain it there. I
meant novices and users of applied software in FOSS

Fact: this mailing list is driven by real committed developers (hats off to
evrybody of them, and expecting consistent supprt).

but begginer / applied users of linux is the majority when we step out into
the society. People running to make bread, but are ready to spend a minute
for us, who explains our vision about th world, our vision about freedom.
Most of these users likes the libre philosophy more, even than the usability
of GNU/Linux distros.

If linux needs to be adopted by desktop users, it needs to be much more user
friendly (nobody argues)

@bipin Kumar, thanks,ur comment :
"*However techie people who have been using linux for a long time tend
give advices
involving use of terminals when one asks for help because they are
comfortable /accustomed with it" . *
expalins it...

so how are we going to work it out? developers cant invest all their time in
answering.
Can we stick to the following approach (these are already stated many
places else where, i am not stating any of these as my virgin theories, my
problem is a frustration with using an XP which i din pay for, but getting
more perspired wen i try switching to FOSS, compromising my performance in
my career The absolute problem is illogical policies and wastage of time in
dispersed efforts in FOSS arena):

*Let Distros like Linux mint be made the most user friendly of the OSes,
compromising slight levels of performance.(memory/processor hungry)and
distors like Debian be maintained developer friendly with text based
efficiency ?*

What about making a resolution about the priorities for support to specific
distros ? thru ilug-tvm? it seems ubuntu is the main thrust. then why
cantilug tvm release a derivative of it own,
with ammendments and policies of the list implemented, before Canonical
approves it/cant approve for policy reasons?

example is the video edit suite Cinelerra, run by Heroine Virtual, but later
forked into to derivatives, the The Cinelerra CV(community maintained
version and Cinelerra HV by heroine virtual). Cinelerra CV is adopted by
professionals, as HV is often late in approving changes.

what are the parctical difficulties as far as we, the ilug-tvm and members
are concernd?

(this is gonna be hot, we have different opinions about Novell and Canonical
and others)
can we discus the pros and cons here? or in a seperate topic? this shud not
divide us, we do it very healthy.

I would like to support the following view:
Evrybody of us tolerate installing the distro which is selected by the
mailing list as the supproted distro.( freedom to have a Win or Mac or a
Kalyway too remains uncompromised) high perfomance computing can be made
practical by switching up to base run levels. At the same time speak to
begginers in more readable language, atleast when they specifically make such
request?
is *Linux Mint* good enuf to meet both end extremes? the user freindlines
as well as running at barebones environment?also license issues support
availability / reach.

*I expect opinions for those text in purple....*
*if we dont mind user friendliness, we may face the crowd holding Novell
flags day after tomarow.*
