Anto.. i & sooraj kennoth is also working on a similar project like
this one.. but our project aims to create a dvd which has all the
software's commonly used by users.. think of it as a custom repo dvd..

the entire ubuntu repository is 8 dvds.. but the users only use a
small fraction of the software available in repos.. we found that all
the software they need would easily fit on one dvd.. we would release
a new version of the dvd every 6 months.. ie, a new dvd for every
ubuntu release..

i think that this is a better way than remastering ubuntu since:
* it is easier to continue developing..
* the user has the choice to choose what he wants..
* we r promoting the original brand ubuntu n there r significant
benefits on doing that..
* the dvd will contain additional items like ubuntu manual,
screencasts, etc to make a new users feel at home in ubuntu..
* N the best thing is that users can download the dvd image, n use the
image to install softwares.. no need to burn dvds for that..

main packages currently in the dvd..
full kde desktop environment, codecs, vlc player, gimp, ubuntu-edu-
primary, ubuntu-edu-preschool, ubuntu-edu-tertiary, ubuntu-edu-
secondary, adobe-flash, startup manager, deluge, avant window
navigator, various development environments, supertux, supertuxkart, n
much more...

even then the dvd image is only 2 gb..
