Debian Women is one of stand out example. Apart from that, I feel that girls normally prefer not being at the computer. However I feel that girls are equally good at grasping stuff. I was teaching the basics of bash to my classmates. The girls were actually able to write more working code than boys. It might just be that the grasping levels were not the same. But still... Girls _can_ do it.
I remember reading in Kenneth Rosen's book "De Morgan advised Lady Ada Lovelace not to do too much of math since it could affect her child bearing capabilities"... Lady Ada went on to become the first computer programmer. Also recently, some lady got the turing award. I dont remember her name. In IRC however, there are very few girls proving only 1 point, their virtual selves are less chatty :P -- Be yourself everyday, every way _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, email [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe <password> <address>" in the subject or body of the message. http://www.ae.iitm.ac.in/mailman/listinfo/ilugc
