Besides Google uses mysql for adwords and had evaluated many
proprietary databases to see if they could find a replacement. They
have also released their mysql tools as well under a FOSS license.
Much of proprietary software is marketed/sold with misinformation/FUD.
Please check your facts before making sweeping statements about OSS.
