i can hear sound from my speakers.
We belong to a linux community and trying to help each other. It is
possible, you could be trying something to get the issue resolved. Tomorrow,
I may not know something and could be doing something crazy. So, I request
you not to apologize or feel sorry for it.

I would open-up the synaptic manager and compare the sound
related packages between 10.04 and 11.04. May be, some driver missing which
is troubling...
