My experience with odesk so far has been bad. An American guy cheated me by paying me 13$ instead of 500$. And he paid a 30$ bonus which I returned. Another guy did not specify the requirements clearly and he moved over the project back to odesk. A lot of odesk clients do not consider my resume attractive enough to award me any work. I think the reason is that such freelancing sites always try to abuse us. It is nothing but the old British Raj in some other form. The wealthy nations enslaving us by labor arbitrage. You are better off finding some clients on your own or by promoting your own website. I had gotten a client directly and he fed me for more than 1 year. In general freelancing sites require a lot of hard work, patience, putting up with shit etc. till you get to a decent viable working relationship with one or more clients. Moreover in the beginning you certainly have to underquote and compromise in order to get started. I find the freelancing experience too much price to pay for too little. Of course I could be proven wrong... -Girish -- Gayatri Hitech http://gayatri-hitech.com _______________________________________________ ILUGC Mailing List: http://www.ae.iitm.ac.in/mailman/listinfo/ilugc ILUGC Mailing List Guidelines: http://ilugc.in/mailinglist-guidelines
