ILUG-D should stand for Linux, where did the Free Software come into?
Its not the "India Linux and Free Softwares Users Group Delhi". The
problem is, there is this perception that Linux means free, including
every damn software on it. That is a rigid stand which is not good, per
se. I don't see a problem discussing a Non-Free software if that
software runs on Linux. Well, if there is a better free alternative,
suggest it, but only if the user desires it. And tomorrow, if a user
asks me how to install Oracle on Linux, I would help him through this
list, if it was in my expertise to help him, notwithstanding the fact
that Oracle is not free, nor open source. You don't have to help him if
you do not want, but don't stop people who can and would want to do so.
Stop him if he asks you for a copy of Oracle CD, if it involves piracy,
though.
