We have had this discussion number of times before ... on the list and in the
meets.

Your POV is accepted. Linux has been more than Free software for quite a while
now, and AFAIK, the list admin has never stopped anybody from asking help on
non-free software on linux.

There are a significant number of vocal people on this list who believe that
Linux represents more than merely a technical platform. Therefore there will
always be some of us who will assume the role of evangelists. They will
continue speaking out against the evils of the closed source world. They play
a significant part of the OSS movement, but even if you dont agree with them,
do your own thing.

If you have to help somebody on Oracle on the list, go right ahead. You are
not violating any rules of the list. Everybody has a different POV on the
theme of the list. And you are free to have yours.

P.S. And AMS is right, these discussions have been unnecessarily been driven
into a unrelated thread.
