Greetings to all, i happen to use tata indicaom connection to browse the net on linux. i configured the connection( i say that as the phone's screen displays PPP data) and is working properly(the KPPP log confirms this by displaying the connection statistics.) the problem is when i type an address in the location bar, it gives me the error Page not found. even the hyperlinks return the same error. i am posting configuration details using tata indicom and lg lsp-340e i am using KPPP shipped with RH FC2. ===============================================================
Thanks Rohit. I am sure your configuration would help people like us to connect to Reliance and BSNL too with the same phone. I will post this to the lug-delhi.org wiki when you are successful.
Regarding the error,, it most probably happens because either the default route or the DNS servers are not getting set.
Apart from the corresponding options in kppp itself, use the following in the "customize pppd arguments" button in the connection properties:
============== defaultroute usepeerdns ==============
Also see if it is possible for you to send us the output of the following commands AFTER you are connected. You dont have to be root to run these commands.
===================== netstat -rn cat /etc/resolv.conf =====================
