(This came into being since the powers that be, wanted a made-in-India Linux).. though some good sidework has come out of it. CDAC Noida I came to know (from their LA-07 stall) are doing couple of stuff, one named abhigyan.. some custom LFS based stuff..(which had some real crappy hindi font rendering in KDE) another one a Live CD.. CDAC Mumbai (earlier NCST).. is doing Janabhaaratii project (http://www.janabhaaratii.org.in) - marathi localization, TTS etc, Fonts etc. CDAC Bangalore (again earlier NCST) - has bharateeyaOO group working on localizing OpenOffice to indian languages. CDAC (Navi Mumbai) - is doing trainings..etc under OSSRC banner.. CDAC Pune... is bringing out the language CDs (collection of free stuff, not all OSS) rest dont know what other real development going on in other CDAC sites..
