Been using MTNL Triband at home for a year or so, am very happy with the 
service.  Total downtime in this period would have been less than 1/2 
day, out of which 6 hours was when it rained and the line became noisy, 
affecting both phone and network connectivity.  Works just fine with 
the modem in bridge mode (I prefer to have control over my connection 
directly so I use PPPoE on my Debian box).

I've heard good reports about Airtel too.
