sure! am aware of the base platform. however, the term openmoko
platform is used by openmoko, and what i've said above is from what
they explain in their communication.
someone's ported openmoko to a treo already.
developers are being encouraged to port and further develop from over
3,500 apps to openmoko, including from zaurus.

i got rather excited about the openmoko, so quickly authored an
article on openmoko this morning that gets published this wednesday in
the mint newspaper. am also inviting people to share with me if they
get inspired and register a project for the openmoko. by the way,
check out the wiki on some of the amazing ideas people are working on.
someone's hacking to port asterisk to it, to run among other things,
an EPBX service over it.
i wrote to sean, the founder of the project, for more info, and was
impressed at his prompt and direct response.
