Perhaps not. At least the local autowallahs use meters and that's a
considerable saving.
If you're working anywhere in the Jubilee Hills area, I'd suggest
staying in Ameerpet / SR Nagar / Punjagutta, there's plenty of much
cheaper accomodation available there. Banjara and Jubilee Hills are very
posh localities, so accomodation you'd find there will inevitably be
overpriced, and the public transport from there will suck.

There are some very good serviced apartments available, with wifi laid
on too.
