Thanks for the tip (yes my computer was hesitating every 4 min for 23 sec)
weird, I've had my imac for 3/4 years and no problem. And thanks for the
solution in the firmware. The link you sent me didn't work so I went to
Apple's site...I just hate their new format. It used to be so easy to find
an update, they'd be all listed by computer and in update date order. Anyway
I did the OS Rom Update 1.0 (that seemed to be the latest I could find for my
233 blue imac with 8.6. It seems to be working. I haven't worked on it much
since I installed it but so far so good.
