Plug the reader into your firewire port, slide your camera's Compact 
Flash card into the reader. After that, you should be able to import the 
pictures off of the card onto your computer.

You have to make sure that your camera is either Compact Flash, Smart 
Media or Memory Stick (if Sony). I believe most are Compact Flash.
