While these are great features, I think the real beauty of digital cameras
is that memory is getting bigger and bigger and cheaper and cheaper at the
same time. I've had my Kodak DC210 for about 2 years now. On my first real
"vacation" with it I brought a laptop as the memory card would hold about 35
pictures, or a good days worth, before it was full. Before the next
vacation I bought a 128 MB flash card, which are now dirt cheap. My camera
will now hold 461 highest possible resolution pictures before they have to
be transferred to the computer. I don't even know (or care) how many it
would hold if lowered the resolution. I snap pictures I would never have
considered before, and you'd be amazed at the candid shots you get when you
don't care if the picture turns out or not. I don't think I've broken even
vs. film yet, but I've got to be close. The digital camera is a lot more
fun than film and with sites like ofoto.com if I, or a friend, want prints I
can get real film prints (or make my own on the inkjet) and have them
delivered anywhere in the world relatively inexpensively.
