Ultimately there are differing theories on everything, including IMAC G3 or G4. Awhile
back, when I asked, in preparation to purchasing an IMAC for my wife, I heard
everything from YES on the newer IMACS 'cause Apple's phasing out the G3 stuff to not
buying the first edition of computers or software, but wait 'til the bugs get worked
out.
It depends on your usage. My wife, Laurie, is intimidated by ANY tech stuff, so I went
the 'lower' road with the G3 IMAC DV 600/256 CD-RW 40GB HD refurbed. I'm into seeing
how she likes this attractive, yet fully featured machine for her first foray. And
it's a great machine, too. Fast and friendly. I'm writing this email on a G4 sawtooth,
so that's where I 'personally' stand. But, it depends on your needs.
Good luck,
Gene
